Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have discovered plenty of engaging independent titles. However, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer lets you play a character that is actually a turd trying to travel to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is simple: press a single jump button. Throughout one hundred fifty stages, battle boss fights and visit a store to buy customizations for your poop character.

Time your jumps carefully, as a error requires restarting the level. Bounce using air pockets to hurl your character upward, navigate disappearing ledges, and touch triggers to open hidden paths. Earn currency to purchase tougher stages where things ramps up.

In terms of design, the experience boasts eye-catching stages and an amazing music score. The simple graphics of morphing geometric shapes could recall fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's hard to name similar titles where you play as a piece of feces, gaming frequently featured toilet humor. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from character excrement. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as soil enrichment. And of course, fecal references appears heavily in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive accolades, such as winning at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version planned to debut on Steam in the fall.
