Tuchel Criticizes Wembley Fan Atmosphere Despite Comfortable Wales Victory.

The England head coach expressed his regret that the Three Lions team did not get greater backing from the Wembley spectators during their decisive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday night.

The manager was pleased to see his side continue their good form, with finishes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter settling the match. Yet, he was not content with the energy at the iconic venue.

“We had one and a half sessions to prepare against a well-trained team and we excelled,” Tuchel commented. “We could have been five goals ahead at the break. We couldn’t score the additional goals. There was little noise. We didn’t get any energy from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in 20 minutes? We prevented them get away. If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the team deserved better encouragement today.”

“I support my words. There’s nothing more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a bit more backing in phases where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was excessive support for Wales. It could have helped us to regain energy, but that’s football and so be it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Performance

Away from potentially starting a dispute among fans, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by leaving out Jude Bellingham and Foden from his squad. However the choice was justified by Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is fighting for his spot.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Defeat

The Wales manager expressed hope that Wales, who face Belgium in a key qualifying match on Monday, improve after their awful first-half display.

“That’s the reason I wanted this friendly,” the manager said. “I need to see where we are. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? This performance fills me with inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was substituted at half-time after colliding with a goalpost and will be a doubt when England play Latvia in Riga in a qualifier on next week.
