International friendly: Wales vs England

Venue: London's Wembley, London Date: Thursday, 9 October Kick-off: 19:45 BST

The Wales head coach states England's squad depth is so impressive that matchmakers wouldn't match them with his Wales side.

The Welsh squad meet their neighbors in a friendly at the national stadium on this Thursday before their crucial World Cup qualifier against Belgium next the following week.

National team coach Tuchel has omitted the likes of Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish out of his selection for the Wales friendly and their qualifying game against Latvia.

"England have a incredible team, like the French," the coach said.

"England have a market valuation of £1.4bn, Wales' is £170m. If you were a boxing promoter, you would not match us up. It wouldn't be allowed."

Bellamy says making sure Wales can face the star-studded opponents is a "driving force".

The Wales head coach added: "We don't go off values, but the simple fact is England have more than one team. They possess two, three, four and France and other nations are similarly stacked. They have many top talents and that's a fact."

"A defender was ruled out injured the other day and there's only 24 more to go! They've got 60-odd players. I'd love Wales to be well-equipped similarly."

The neighbouring countries most recently met at the 2022 tournament in the Middle East, when England emerged as comfortable victors in a group match before Gareth Southgate's side reached the last eight.

The new manager is Tuchel, a Champions League and world club champion at the London club who has won domestic titles in Ligue 1 and his home country.

Bellamy was formerly an assistant at the Belgian side and Burnley to Vincent Kompany, who replaced Tuchel at Bayern Munich.

"Tuchel's an incredible coach - his achievements is proven," Bellamy noted.

"I possess some sort of understanding because the club he left I know people who have gone in there. I gain a bit of an insight from that of his methods and it's remarkable. "

"His strategic planning is elite and I aimed to be up against that - see how you're going to adapt because he adapts too. I can learn from it. I'd love to get to that level."
